OK, enough with the cold ...

We've done well over here in the mountains this winter -- the woodstove has performed admirably, and the pile of oak, poplar and sycamore is still hefty enough to heat our house for another four months or so, but ...

ENOUGH ALREADY! I WANT SPRING!

I want to get our garden planted, strawberry plants in the ground and sorghum seed in the field!

GAH!

(Maybe the past seven years in South Carolina and Florida spoiled me on the weather. At least there are no hurricanes here.)

Kentucky winters are notoriously soggy and cold.

Glad the wood stove is working well. Friends help stave off the cold too. And beer...

    And whiskey...

    And sorghum on warm biscuits...

    And bacon...

And maybe some eggs with chipotle tobasco sauce.

and down comforters... those always help too.

But nothing beats when the krocus and tulips pop up!!

We got a new down comforter this winter, it pairs up really well with the quilts Mom gave us.

But ... can't wait for the tulips! (Especially since we're ordering 200 starwberry plants this year to expand the farm's offerings. WOOHOO!)
